Start-Up and Shut-Down: A Quick High-Level Dust Checklist
Small habits keep lines clean. Use this quick start-up and shut-down routine to control high-level dust without stopping production.
We work from the safety of the ground up to 16 m using carbon fibre poles and purpose-built heads. No MEWPs in most cases.
At start-up — two minutes per line
Torch scan: skim a torch across beams and cable trays directly above open product.
Spot-vac the source: one or two slow passes with a round brush on obvious build-up.
Note airflow: feel for little side drafts near returns and doorways and flag the worst spots for the next window
During the shift — quick wins
Tray lips over conveyors: dust rides perforations. Use a tray brush held slightly canted.
Bracket feet and fixings: angled crevice head, two short passes at 45°.
Lights and sensors: soft detailing head after covers or isolations.
At shut-down — finish clean
Fall-zone tidy: sweep or vac beneath the areas you’ve treated so nothing is left on guards and rails.
Two photos for proof: one before and one after from the same angle. Drop into today’s folder.
